Megan,

Please help me get out the word that a friend is going through a serious battle that in his words "is life or death".

A little background...
Mike Miller is an incredibly giving and caring man whom I was privileged to work with for four years in Wisconsin. He has a heart for helping other people succeed, and a deep desire to care for co-workers who are down on their luck. As an administrative assistant, he is the most efficient and thorough team members I have been graced to work with. Even buried under pages of "to do's", he always made time to understand my needs and delivered promptly and with a smile.

Now distanced by 3 states, we stay in touch through periodic late night instant messaging chats, and tonight he was in great despair. While he did not give many details, he said that "2009 is off to a very bad start". That "my own family doesn't know" about the situation. And that "it is very serious", in fact "it is life and death".

Mike isn't one to exaggerate, so I took this message seriously. When I attempted to encourage him, reminding him of all the good he has done for people by bringing joy and inspiration through his DJ business, and incredible compassion for co-workers in distress, his response was "Thanks, but that giving spirit has helped to create some of the mess."

My friend Mike is in serious need of some divine intervention to help turn around his outlook on his situation. Please help me get out the word to everyone possible, and encourage them to participate in a campaign of prayers, well wishes, inspiration and love. BTW - He LOVES chocolate and sports!

For more about what his raving fans have to say about his service as a DJ (which are reflective of the good servant he is), visit his website at www.mikemillerdj.com.

Bless you for helping in this mission!

Sincerely,
Gavin Berkey

Megan,

On Friday, December 26, 2008, at approximately 9:30 am, Jamestown Indiana volunteer firefighter, Fred Long, was struck by a semi-tractor trailer on Interstate 74 while working at an accident scene.  The semi lost control while approaching the accident scene and slid on the ice.  Fred was pinned underneath the rear axle of the tractor for approximately 30 minutes.  Fred remained conscious throughout the incident.  He was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he underwent surgeries to repair a shattered pelvis, broken leg, and numerous internal injuries.  Currently, Fred remains in stable, but critical, condition in the Neurologic Critical Care Unit.  The surgeries appear to have been successful at repairing the immediate injuries.  Fred will require many months of rehabilitation upon his release from the hospital.

A trust fund has been setup at State Bank of Lizton to benefit Fred Long.  Donations can be made to State Bank of Lizton, c/o Jamestown Fire Department, 206 N. State St., Lizton, IN  46149.

Fred's Address is:

Dear Mr. & Mrs. McDaniel,

My name is SPC Gilbert, (from what I understand, you are acquaintances with my parents) and I am serving overseas as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  I was pleasantly surprised a couple days ago during mail call with a postcard from you.  A smile crossed my face as I learned that although you do not know me, you took the time to send a note and thank me for what I do.  Well, just so you know, I truly enjoy what I do and I do it to make the world a little bit better for those who love our great country as well.  I can't even describe how good it makes a soldier feel to know that he/she is supported in their efforts, and to receive letters from the homefront.  I think that your card sending service is a wonderful program that promotes morale among those who are so far away from loved ones.  The fact that there are those of you that go out of your way to let soldiers know that you care is a very humbling and heartwarming experience.  "Thank you" doe not express my gratefulness toward all of you, and knowing that you are appreciated across the world make it all worth while.

Happy Holidays and Thank You so Much!
Keira Gilbert

Dear Megan,
Thank you so very much for including Jason.
Jason's story is very common. He grew up without his father and although he has a mother, she was not always willing or sometimes able to care for him. Jason has always been loved and cared for by others in the family but it was never enough because we were not the ones he wanted to be with. Early in his life we realized that he was incredibly bright , but, we also noticed that he was either depressed or on top of the world. Jason had several great role models but he always seemed to make the worst possible choice available.
Over the years Jason has been in and out of the corrections system but none of his problems have been addressed. He is now serving a very long sentence for acts of stupidity and desperation. He is the father of two beautiful children and his wife has moved on and will not allow him to correspond with the children. He is in school at his unit but has very little contact with the outside world (many people are tired of his behavior). He is a very lonely young man, who has lost his way and his faith. Please, let him know that even if you don"t know him personally, his is still important and his life does have value. Maybe this can help restore some of his faith and hope for the future.
Thank you for you kindness.
Peace be with you always,
Mary Nweke

Susan Moi
c/o University of Colorado Hospital
Burn/Trauma ICU
Mail Stop F796
Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion
P.O. Box 6510
Aurora, CO 80045

Saturday evening, November 15, one of our Catalyst High School students, Susan Moi, was seriously burned when her apartment in Boulder caught fire while Susan was cooking dinner. Along with a second injured woman who lived in a separate apartment, Susan was airlifted to the Colorado Medical Center Burn Unit. She is burned over 30% of her body, including her face and hands. Currently, Susan is in critical condition. Under heavy medical sedation, Susan has undergone several surgeries and is slowly recovering. She is expected to be in the hospital for at least a month.

Susan is one of the Lost Girls of the Sudan. Prior to this terrible accident, Susan was known as a dedicated student and a hard worker. In High School, Susan was studying math from three different teachers, focusing her American History studies areas that would help her pass the American citizenship test, and enjoyed writing in her journal about what she was learning in Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens. Susan worked at Safeway for her rent and food, and she sent money to her brothers who still live in a refugee camp in Africa. Susan was scheduled to graduate from Catalyst High Schooll in May and planned to go on to nursing school. Susan is a survivor and, while her graduation plans may be delayed, we who know Susan expect that her dream of becoming a nurse will not change.

During our recent study of Africa, Susan spoke to her fellow students of how she had witnessed her father's death outside her home in Sudan when she was five years old. She lost her mother as the family fled the country. (During the brief period of time between Susan's presentation to her classmates and the fire, Susan learned that her mother was in fact alive, although not well, in Africa.) Susan survived 10 years of abuse in a refugee camp in Kenya before being rescued and brought to Boulder three years ago.  Susan finds support and friendship from Congregation Har HaShem and the Community of Sudanese American Women and Men, with whom she loves to dance and socialize.

Looking forward, Susan faces a slow recovery and years of surgeries.  What few possessions Susan owned, including her journal, were lost in the fire. In addition, she and her brothers have lost their financial lifeline.

We have set up a fund at First Community Bank to support Susan.  We urge you to make a financial gift to the Susan Moi Fund, c/o Catalyst High School, 2575 Park Lane, Suite 100, Lafayette, CO 80026. Please pass Susan's story along to friends.

My niece/goddaughter from Jim Christopherson  is very sick and needs your help.

Her name is Mercedes Christopherson. Everyone calls her Cede. She just turned 20 years old and is the joy of my brother Joe’s life. Like Joe, she plans on being a cop once she turns 21.

Cede has been in the hospital for almost three weeks with severe pancreatitis. She is fighting for her life. Today, November 30, 2008, things took a turn for the worse and her doctors have moved her to isolation in the progressive care unit where she is being cared for by a team of 4 physicians. Her doctors said that there is not much that they can do and that the only thing that may keep her alive is her emotions and her will to live.

I am asking for prayers from everyone and for you to send her a get well card.

My hope is that hundreds of cards arrive at the hospital so that she knows how much she is loved, even by complete strangers. Please pass this request along to everyone on your prayer list.

Address the envelope to

Hey Megan,

I would like to send a note out for Random Acts of Kindness for a friend that is battling cancer right now.  Her name is Denise Carlton.  She just finished up with radiation treatment recently for a tumor in her brain and thought that things were turning around.  Then another bomb was dropped.

On a follow up visit they found more cancer in her body that they had to start treatment on right away.  She is currently going through Chemotherapy treatments every week.  Although she it trying to maintain a positive outlook and attitude I know it must be wearing on her.

She really does not have a big support group here and I am sure that getting some uplifting cards during this trying time would be a big help to her in the fight against cancer.

So long story short I would just like to ask that everyone send out a card of encouragement and support to Denise.

Her address is:

Dear Megan,

My wife and I have been supporters of soldiers angels for some time now and have been regularly sending cards and making donations as needed when we feel prompted to do so.  Today my wife Lesa received information on the soldier listed in her letter and  the attached link.  She read the story and thought my friends at SOC could help this young man.  Please pass this info on because if ever someone needed a random act of kindness it would be Hunter.

Thank You for your help
Dean Johnson

Dear Dean,

My US soldier support organization sends me names and addresses of wounded soldiers from time to time who are in need of encouragement via cards or calls.  I just got another email I cant get out of my mind. The link below is for a young man who was severely wounded in May of 2008, and his terrible facial injuries have left him blind and hurting.  He also is struggling with depression and is discouraged--

do you think your friends at Send out Cards might be able to help encourage this young man?  I am attaching a website established with information for Hunter and it includes some background and also some photos of this courageous hero.

I cant imagine what he's going through-- I just want him to know he's not going through it unnoticed and unappreciated. Please, ask your SOC friends to show their love and gratitude. Keep the cards positive. Take a moment to look at the site-- and them follow your prompting.

Thank you in advance for showing your love.

Hunter's 21'st birthday was last week. He was originally at Walter Reed, and then moved to Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto for specialist care on his eyes. In the last few weeks he was moved to a hospital in Texas. The address above is the current address, and the website shares more background and some other ways to help.

Together, we can make a difference for Hunter.

Thank you. I cant wait to see a blog on this website about the basket of Send out Cards I know Hunter will receive.

Dear SendOutCards Peers:

At a recent Maine Women's Network function, one of the members asked to address the group and told us the story of a very special friend who was to be released from Johns Hopkins with a "no cure" diagnosis.  She went on to tell us the apartment she is to return to is in bad shape with old moldy rugs and poor furniture making it difficult for her to breathe.  She solicited products from Lewiston, Maine vendors and to her surprise, her friend will come home to a "total makeover"  much like the television show that we watch.  Donations of paint, new carpeting, new appliances and new furniture were generously donated by the community.  She went on to invite the group to join the community in welcoming her home this Saturday, Nov. 15th.  They expected a crowd of a couple hundred to be on hand to line the street with welcome home signs.

I couldn't help but think about SendOutCards and how lovely it would be for as many card senders as possible to practice what we preach and call on our downlines to send this young woman a special card.

I hope you feel the same way.  Her contact information is below:

Hi,

Cassie Way was 18 months old when the doctors found a tumor on her brain.  After many, many surgeries and lots of radiation and chemotherapy, Cassie still needed another surgery.
It seemed the tumor was embedded into the optic nerves and to remove it meant cutting the nerves and Cassie would be blind.

Doctors did not have much hope for Cassie even after removing most of the tumor.  But today Cassie is 18 years old and a very happy girl.  Cassie is my niece and I am so proud of her.  She inspires me every time I see her.  She is always to pleasant and content with life.  She is such a joy to be around.

If you could send her cards and her mom as well.  They have been through so much over the past few years.  Words of encouragement would go a long way for this family.

Thank you in advance!!

My best friend lives with severe crohn's disease ~ it's an incurable disease of the digestive system and it can attack anywhere from the intestines, colon, eyes, skin ,organs, and its a very painful unpredictable disease.
Her name is Jade, she's a mom of 2 , a nurse, a sister, and a supporter to 'all' - especially those who are affected with Crohn's & Colitis. She's been through 18 surgeries since 2005, she underwent a successful liver transplant in 2006, and she's fought the hardest battle to survive these complications.

Jade had surgery last tues and she's not healing or recovering well .. she's deeply depressed, and she's in horrible pain, her limitations have kept her homebound and out of work for the past 2 1/2 mths and she doesn't have alot of family around her, I know she loves recieving mail, and if anyone would send her a card .. I'm quite positive she'd be so grateful, and you'll probably recieve one back from her. She's a sweetheart.
She spends much of her time (when she's sick or out of work) writing in her Journal, making bead jewelry, printing pictures , and reading. I hope you cross paths with Jade. She's an inspiration and a soulful friend.

Hello Megan,

I have a friend his name is Karl Lucero and I think sending him some cards will lighten up his life. Recently Karl has been facing a lot of short term problems. First his son Conner broke his left leg and was in the hospital for a few weeks. So this has made it a difficult time for Karl. Karl called me today and told me that his Son Ben was playing soccer this past weekend, he also broke his left leg (unbelievable) both Son's within a months time. Megan, Karl needs use to raise his spirit. So I ask that we all send him our best in his time of need. Karl is a Great Father and Friend a really nice person and he deserves the best.

Dear Megan,

I became a distributor with Jordan Adler on Sept 18 2008 as a 10th Wedding Anniversary Gift from my husband.  Its been almost two months and I love Send Out Cards.  Last year before I knew about SOC, I was in a Bible Study group and on an almost weekly basis I sent out cards of encouragement to friends in that group.  One of them actually told me she thought sending out cards was my ministry.  I had never thought of it that way.  I still send out cards to my Bible study group of new women but I still send cards to her too.  Fast forward back to SOC, I found out an old friend from our earlier network marketing days was doing SOC and I called Jordan, left him a message and he called me back and the rest they say is history.  On to yesterday.

Sunday, November 9th, I woke up as usual and did my morning routine, I walked the dog, did a few other things, went online and checked why my face would be paralyzed and I found "Bells Palsy" all before 7am.  The night before while I was drinking Hot Chocolate to keep warm, I was spilling on myself and my cup and it occurred to me my face felt like I was just at the dentist for dental work.  I felt very cognizant of this but didn't really give it much thought at that time.  I figured I would get some sleep and see what things were like in the morning.

So after my morning routine, I went online and found out the most likely reason for the paralysis and proceeded to call Godly friends who I know would pray for me.  Then my thoughts as it got lighter outside was not to upset the kids when they got up.  So I went to my room cried alot, prayed alot and then called my Teen Mother Choices leader, my Bible Study Fellowship leader, my Moms In Touch leader and a few other Sisters in Christ.  (My husband and I have two small children Faith who is 8 and Keaton who just turned 6, I also have two older children who live on their own.)  How amazing to me that the first people I reached out to are all women in Christ.  After calling those women, I called my son for babysitting, my husband traveled home from his dads in Chicago and my friend Jean (the Registered Nurse) took me to the Emergency Room.

My doctors office said go to the ER and be assessed to rule out stroke.  So I went, we ruled it out and I had a CAT scan and EKG testing.  My blood pressure at check in was 173/85 and at check out a couple hours later was 133/86 so it was alot better.  The blood tests they did came back negative for any problems and my EKG and CAT scan were also both OK.

The Bells Palsy is a short term paralysis, caused either by a viral or bacterial infection (its a virus for me) and can last 24 hours to 2 months.  So I guess God can use me to teach others a thing or two.  Please pray that this can be used to teach others to pray and Trust God with everything.  Hmm, God is teaching ME how to be obedient to Him first and to recognize how important my Godly sisters are to me and how secondary doctors/medicine is.  It is so important for me to pray first and trust God, long before I trust man and worldly medicine.  But I know God wants me to have a plan so I went to be treated and now have to take a sterioid and an antibiotic to combat this challenge.

Good thing this happened on a day that everyone was available to me.  God is Good All the Time and All the Time God is Good!  I still expect a miracle daily and now the miracle is that I will include this in my testimony to Teen Moms that I mentor.  In all honesty, I will tell anyone who will listen of God's grace, mercy and love.

Hello SOC team,

As some of you know, my youngest daughter,Krista, had brain surgery on Wednesday.  A blood clot the size of a lemon was removed from her left frontal loab.  She is in ICU in Cincinnati, Ohio and will be moved to a rehab facility the beginng of the week.  Physically she is good, however, she has no short term memory and her speech if very garbled.  It is going to be a long haul for the entire family.

Her boys, Michael White(15), Drew White(13) and Trent Hedges(7) are very confused.  Drew was expelled from school on Thursday for throwing a book at another child.  He is very angry and does not where to put his anger.  My son-in-law, Pedro Hedges, tried to talk to the school and explain the situation, but they are insisting on suspending Drew for a few days.

Please send a card to the family letting them know that they are being prayed for and that someone is thinking of them.  It is so easy to get wrapped up in Krista's situation and forget the others that are affected by this.

My great-grandson, Camden Marshky, age 3 - living with brain cancer over the last 20 months, went to be with our Heavenly Father
this morning (Sept. 29) at 10:15 a.m. -
I want to thank everyone for their loving support and prayers and the many cards sent to my granddaughter and her family during
this trying time - 19 months at St. Jude's in Memphis - and the last month at home in Illinois with the care of Hospice.
If you want to visit his site it is www.caringbridge.org/visit/camdenmarshky

Thanks again from a very grateful heart,

I went to Random Acts of Kindness earlier and read about litlle Camden and his fight with Cancer. His Grandmom Pat Tjarks had written about him and asked for cards.  I wrote to them and have been following his progress thru http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/camdenmarshky.  Yesterday's post by his mom Jenny indicates that the end is very near for him.  I also want to ask people to send some cards or go to the caringbridge site and read about them.  Their journey has been so difficult and I know they would appreciate some caring.

Hi everyone,

On my way to our great Send Out Cards Convention in August, 2008, I had the privilege of sitting next to a young gentlemen on the airplane. After I got all comfy in my seat, we did the normal pleasantries – turning to the person next to you, saying hello, asking where they are from, what they do, where they are going…you know the normal questions!

I was saddened to discover through our conversations that the 38 year old Anesthesiologist  I was conversing with had been diagnosed with lung cancer in November of 2007. He had given his resignation at the hospital in Peoria Illinois, where he practiced. He was on his way to SLC to sightsee and visit with a friend, for you see David D’Souza was on one leg of his “Bucket List” journey.

SOCs has been a great way to let David know he is in my thoughts and prayers, David had a great time visiting and touring SLC, he couldn’t be gone too long as he needed to get back to IL for his next treatment of chemotheraphy. He has since undergone another surgery. He just wrote and said the last CAT scan was encouraging, his tumors seem to be responding to treatment.

David would be so happy to receive encouraging words from any of you who are willing to send him a card filled with good wishes, his address is:

Dear Family and Friends,
As most of you are already aware our son Troy was diagnosed with symptomatic Wolff Parkinson White syndrome.Tomorrow he sees a biophysicelecrto cardiologist.  We have researched this physician fully and although he normally does not take 16 year olds has agreed, to our delight, to treat Troy.
As you may well guess as this syndrome is associated with sudden cardiac arrest there is some urgency. Our prayer is for a cure for our son and would love for you all to send prayers his way.
He is a beloved young man who is always in all ways  kind and generous.  Plus full of great humor.
Certain family members dealing with their own health crisis's have not been informed as their plates are more than full although they will be remembered in our daily prayers.

Thanks for all your support and I hope to have an up date to you all by Fridat as to the game plan.

Many Blessings,
Mike and Denise

18 months ago my great-grandson, Camden Marshky - then 18 months old was admitted to St. Jude's in Memphis for treatment of cancer (brain/spine) - he has been stronger than expected and survived to see his 3rd birthday July 16 - 5 days ago he was sent home with Hospice care since there is no more treatment available for him - he is on constant morphine and is doing the best job he can of being a "normal" playful 3 year old - His mother, Jenny, (my granddaughter) is celebrating her 31st birthday on August 30 and his brother, Jaden will be 7 on September 3 - It would be awesome for them to get some SOC hugs at this time -
I gifted Jenny with a SOC account to thank people for kindnesses they have received during the journey and it has worked very well for her - especially since she has very little time to actually go "shopping" -
If you would like to visit Camden's site - it is www.caringbridge.org/visit/camdenmarshky

At first I thought is would just be fun to have my SOC family send supportive letters to my son Bryce Amdur.  But after receiving his letter that I will share with you. I am asking for your help to let him and his battle buddies, “That is what they call them” know that he has lots of support and appreciation from all Americans.  They put them through some grueling time, because this is what they will be facing most of the time during conflicts, so that their chances of survival are improved.

Bryce Amdur’s address has to be exact:

AMDUR, BRYCE
ALPHA COMPANY 1/34 INF REGT
3RD PLATOON \"SNIPERS\"
FORT JACKSON SC 29207

I am not an emotional person and did not even cry when I lost my first mother at 5 years old and again Betty my second mother who raised me and passed away when I was 22.  But, I was so truly touched and cried when I received Bryce’s letter.  He played soccer, paintball and traveled quite often in compition but has never said I miss you.

8/13/08
Dear Mom and Dad
I really miss you guys.  I miss my comfortable bed and good food to eat.  We eat the same thing and only have 5 minuets every day, well once in a while it changes.  I can’t wait to see you guys around the 8th of October. I go to church every Sunday and pray for you guys and my battle buddy’s every night.  I even pray before each meal.  I know God is with me and helping me get threw.  If you guys could, mail me over a nice bible; they will let me keep that.  I was suppose to call you guys on the 9th but my platoon doesn’t know how to stay quiet so we got our barracks smoked out and had to survive through it all, missing my 5 minuet phone time with you.  We will be doing victory tower obstacle course on Saturday, bugles this Friday and on Monday we do the gas chamber.  They are really preparing us for urban assaults through out the US.  I think the hardest part about boot camp is staying awake and always being hungry.  The drill sergeants wear us out in the morning plus only giving 4 to 5 hours rest if you don’t have fire watch or CQ.  We have been getting into hand to hand combat that my favorite, remember all our wrestling matches and fun times together.  We also have been getting into Mount training, which is extensive, urban assaults missions and learning how to clear rooms, I am having fun with that.  It’s hard but it’s fun.  It’s very lonely at night if I don’t pass out from exhaustion but I have my battle buddies to talk to through the night.  Aragon, Atchly and Duran are very close to me now.  We mostly talk about food though.  Everyone is always hungry, when it chow time, it is the only time we sprint out of the Barracks to get into formation to be the first to eat and maybe get a few extra minutes.
I love getting your letters, it made me feel better.  The only time I cry is in church though. I love you guys and hope the house isn’t too lonely with out me. Love you
Love Bryce

One of our teammates (SOC Distributor) and a dear friend of mine, Becky Miller, was admitted into the hospital last night. Her pain became unbearable, so she finally went to the hospital.  The doctors found some disturbing issues, and may have to operate. Her pain is now under control with morphine. Her Mother, Ashley, tells me the surgery could prevent her from having children, and that would devastate Becky.  Becky is a very special young lady that just got married a few months ago and is attending the University of Central Florida.   Will you all please take a moment to send her a sincere card to up lift her spirits?  I would greatly appreciate it; and I know Becky will be so moved by your support.

Please mail the card to her home address, and her husband Chris will deliver the cards. Thanks in advance.

THEIR STORY:
A friends Father has had surgery to remove a cancerous node of the oesophagus. The oesophagus itself was removed, due to the size and depth of the node.
A tracheotomy was done to allow for healing of the area, with the hope of eventually removing the traech tube, and resume regular breathing.
He remains in the Intensive Care Unit, and may have to remain there for several more weeks.
The Doctors believe he is now cancer free, which is amazing, given the aggressive and fatal nature of this cancer that can spread quickly into the stomach, lymph nodes, and other vital organs.
He has a long road to recovery, with the hope of avoiding several possible complications. His wife and (adult) children are by his side as much as possible, and they all would appreciate your cards of encouragement, well wishes, thoughts and prayers.

Hello Megan
I just got off the phone with one of my downline distributors. She was
telling me about some of the things her and her family have recently gone
through and some they are still going through. It would be awesome if the
sendoutcards family could send some cards of encouragement and support to
them.

Her neice Rikki was born in Hawaii and has always dreamed of going back.
Recently her and fiance competed for a cheerleading scholarship for the
university of Hawaii and won. About a month ago her fiance very unexpectly
died. Rikki's Mother Linda has also just went through a life threating
surgery with her disease.  She is planning to follow her lifelong dream
and go to school and I think some words of encourangement would be great.

Hi Megan,

We've had some bad news in our area about a Realtor who was shot and killed by a disgruntled man on July 1, 2008.  Troy Vanderstelt was a Realtor with Nexes Realty in Muskegon, Michigan and leaves behind a wife Bridget of 4 years 2 young children and 2 step children.  I thought it would be nice to put this family on the cool buzz site and ask for people from around the country to send a note of sympathy if so moved to this hurting family.  A lot of real estate agents use SendOutCards and may be moved to send a heartfelt card.  I did not know Troy personally but all Realtors get a wake up call when something as bizzare and unexpected as this happens.  Thanks for the consideration.  His wife Bridget's address is as follows:

Our friends the Gustafsons -Mary and Gary- lost their son, Michael this week.  He was only 19 and he drowned while kayaking on Memorial Day.  He is survived by his sisters- Lindsay, Nicole and Jenny and his brother, Tom.  I know most of the sympathy cards go to the whole family, but I thought it might be nice for people to send cards to the siblings...Lindsay, Nicole, Jenny or Tom Gustafson.

Dear family and friends,

I wanted to update you on Austin.  First, he has been promoted to Sergeant!!!  We are so proud of him!!!

He is currently serving as Convoy Commander in Haditha, Iraq.  He is working security detail both on convoys and on foot patrol.  Because of security reasons, I can't go into alot of detail, but he is definately seeing the human side of Iraq.  He is interacting with the Iraqi people, which is something he never did last time.  He has seen much improvement from when he was there last year.  This is comforting to a worried family back home.

The second reason for this email, Austin's birthday is May 14th, he will be 22.  I want him to receieve 100's of cards for his birthday and also to congratulate him on his promotion to Sergeant!!

Please get the word out!  Cards mailed by May 1st, will get to him just in time!!  I want this birthday away from home to be a good one, and one he'll never forget!!  You can help make this happen!

Thanks to all of you for supporting our Marine, proudly serving our country in Iraq.

Please foward to all of your friends.
Whether you support the war or not, please let Austin know you support his efforts!!!

I would like to tell you about my Aunt Monica, also my God Mother.

My Aunt Monica is my mothers sister. She is affectionately known to me, and her other nephews simply as "Cioci". And now, to my three boys as well.

Cioci, as well as my other Aunt Margaraet were and are as much my mother as my mother. But to Cioci who has no children of her own, I have always been special. She has always taken great care of me, and always gone out of her way for me. Well that has carried over to my adult life, my wife and children.

Cioci is always the person my sons are talking to on the other end of the line, when the are pretending to talk on their toy phones. I have never figured out why, but shes the one. She treats my sons like gold, as no one else can.

Cioci is always the one who has had the camera in my life. Never without it, she has photo albums of every inch of my life, and the lives of my family.

Cioci lost her life partner, Bob, a wonderful man who my oldest son adored in 2004 at the age of 56 to a heart attack. She now lives alone and has only in these recent years grown truly independent. Bob handled all "the guy stuff" car repairs, negotiating with contractors etc. But now, Cioci does that all by herself even though, she is truly a shy and quiet person who prefers the seat in the back.

Cioci is also the person to "care and save" the people she loves. When my mother had financial troble, Cioci helped her. When my other Aunt needed a new furnace, and later a new car... Cioci again. When my sons wisper to her about the latest, coolest thing they must have... there it is. She has helped my cousins and me as well, often sacrificing her own comfort for others.

When I decided to get into SOC, Cioci was my first customer. Signing up for a wholesale account when she didn't even own a computer, and had really no experience on the internet.

You see Cioci was already a level 4 card sender, she just did it the old fashioned way. Purchased, homemade... either way, she had her own SOC system. Never forgot birthdays, always sent a card, and even after signing up with SOC, I don't think she planned on using it She had HER way.

Well a while later I bought her a laptop and a digital camera (yes she still was using film) and now she is an SOC junkie. My boys get cards regularly from her. So does everyone. My family, my wifes family... she LOVES it. She probably sent one of the first 10 3-panel cards. Now, it's brownies for the guy who does her snowplowing, her car repairs... it's funny She is now also a digital picture pro. We get CD's and slide shows... She also loves the Send Out You Love thing and routinely sends cards to strangers...

Boil it down, Cioci is one of those people in life you just want to do stuff for. I am always looking for things that I can do for her. Well her birthday is May 5th. She will be 50. I would like her to receive 50 Birthday cards. Any help you all can provide, I would deeply and truly appreciate.

Thank you so much.

Sometimes God puts you in a situation where you have the chance to save someone else\'s life, and you are compelled to act instantly with no regards to your own.  That\'s what happened when Wendy Bedford was on the Interstate and saw an accident happen.  A delivery truck hit another vehicle (SUV) causing the driver to lose control. The SUV flipped several times and landed in the median... partially on the other side of the Interstate.  Wendy pulled off the road, and when the surrounding cars had stopped, she ran to the median to help in any way that she could.  The young lady driving the SUV had been thrown into the back seat of the vehicle and was, obviously, injured badly.  Oncoming traffic was speeding by at 70+ mph, but the drivers were moving into the far right lane away from the median and away from the SUV.  Wendy was half in / half out of the back seat of the SUV with the young lady waiting on paramedics and emergency responders.  One car didn\'t move over; it hit the SUV going at the speed of 75 mph.  This caused the SUV to flip again and Wendy was thrown out of the SUV and against the concrete barrier, as the SUV came crashing down above her.  Wendy suffered a severe head injury and many broken bones; the concrete barrier kept the SUV from falling on her and crushing her.  Others saw what happened and they, too, risked their lives to save another.  When the paramedics and emergency responders arrived, they thought that Wendy had not survived because of the extent of her head injury.   They disregarded the body-bag when they realized that she was alive, and rushed her to the hospital.  I spoke with her husband this afternoon and he said that she is doing well and is expected to come home soon with no permanent damage at all, expect for some scars and broken bones that will heal.  The young lady driving the SUV is also expected to recover fully.  Everyday angels and heroes are among us; please send a card to the Bedford family letting them know that others are thinking of them.  I suggested this !
 to Wendy
\'s husband and he said it would be OK.  The Bedfords are friends of our family.

Cards should be sent to:

Hello Support team and Megan,

I wasn't sure who to send this to. I'm a tad tardy in sending this. But all support would be appreciated here.

One of our very own lost their son and brother this last Tuesday.

David Donner was 33 years young. He battled a "Auto immune deficiency", starting 3 years ago. The drugs he took from that gave him cancer.... He had radiation and Chemo. I'm not sure where in this process but he also had a kidney transplant, that didn't take. He was battling a ton. The family is devastated, please help by sending some love out there. The parents of David and his sister are SOC Distributors. This is a great chance to give back. Words of encouragement and great cards would be appreciated. Here's the information

 Hi Megan,

I am a distributor with SendOutCards. I would like to nominate my two
cousins and their family to receive cards and prayers. Two seperate
stories, and both need encouragement.

Cousin #1(Becca Woznick)

Becca has Crohn's disease and she is 29 weeks pregnant with their second
child. She did not have any issues in her first pregnancy, but she is now
having serious high-risk issues with her second. They found a blockage in
her intestines, that is causing her to become very ill with episodes. The
doctors have told her that the next time she has an episode, they will
have to do an emergency c-section and emergency intestinal surgery to
remove the blockage, which could be anytime. She has had a lot of help
with their 1 1/2 year old daughter. Her husband Danny is working very hard
to manage home and work. They could use some encouragment and laughter as
they face decisions.
Please send cards and prayers too:

Becca, Danny and Daylin
268 Liberty Hill Road
Greer, SC 29651

Cousin #2 (Pamela and Kent Matthia)

Their daughter Rachell was born February 2006 with multiple internal and
external Hemangiomas.  They range from the top of her head on the outside,
down to her liver on the inside.  Chemo and steroids are keeping them at
bay during the growth phase.  They travel weekly 3 hours each way to get
treatment in Atlanta and most times they have to stay overnight. Rachell
has had several surgeries and has been hospitalized many times over the
past two years. Her husband, Kent, and son,Andrew(5 years old) have been a
huge support over the past two years. Andrew loves his baby sister and at
the same time it is hard when Pamela and Rachell have to leave for
Atlanta.

It has been a rough road at times but they feel so blessed with their
little angel!! She and her brother are the lights of their world!

Please send prayers and cards to:
Pamela, Kent, Andrew and Rachell Matthia

Simpsonville, SC 29681

Thanks, Megan. Contact me if you have any questions

I am relatively new to SOC, having joined in December/07 and I work at a Chrysler Dealership in Peterborough, Ontario Canada.  My first wholesale account was with my dealer principal who sees the value of SOC with his business.

He is a man in his early 50's and has been battling Cancer for a couple of years and recently underwent surgery.  During his recovery I sent him a get well card with a box of brownies and he just loved them and the card.

Today as I arrived at the dealership the mood was very somber and quiet and I found out that even though his surgery went well two weeks ago, today they found a new tumor in the same area they operated on.  Needless to say his spirits are going downhill very fast.  Although a strong person he seems to be losing his desire to keep on keeping on, and it showed in his voice today.  If anyone feels they could try and lift his spirits with a card it would be greatly appreciated.   They can be sent to:

My great-grandmother "nana" was born on February 27th 1908, that's right!  This month she will be 100 years old!  That is quite an occasion!  She has lived an exciting life of travels around the world after she was widowed at age 40.  She has had two recent strokes, but she is still as sharp as ever!  She has been telling us all that she's hanging on to reach 100.  Unfortunately she will spend the rest of her days in a convelecent hospital due to the decisions made by her only daughter.  Therefore, no party will commemorate this momentus occasion.  :(  My request is that she get as many cards as possible on her birthday to know she is someone special that has lived a very wonderful life.  She is a very classy lady and is making the most of life even in the most dreary of places.

Hi Megan,

My father is very ill.  He's recently been diagnosed with congestive heart failure.  He had a pacemaker and defibrillator put in.  Since Christmas he's been back in the hospital twice.   He's to the point now where he can't walk and he's either in the bed or the wheel chair.  He's really down and thinks he'll be housebound for the rest of his life.  He's 74.  It has gotten to the point where my stepmother can no longer get him in and out of the car by herself.  My goal is to help them get one of those special vans that accommodates wheel chairs.

I'd like to see if anyone would be willing to send him a card of encouragement during this time.

I joined sendoutcards yesterday through Darcy Davis. She mentioned about your worthy causes section and thought I should see if my foundation could get added. The web site: www.morquio.com
We are a non-profit that helps fund research for a rare disease called Morquio which my daughter, Carol, is suffering with since birth. It is a bone disease that is progressive and effects all her bones as well as the lungs, heart, muscle and connective tissue. At the moment there is no cure or treatment but we are actively working on finding a cure.
When you have time I would appreciate it if you could check out our website to decide for yourself if you will add our cause onto your list.
Thank you for your time.
Most Sincerely,
Mary Smith, President

Hi Megan,
I have a request for the random acts of kindness…. My sister J-mee (age 25) was admitted to the hospital (Mayo Clinic) today
After deteriorating quite rapidly over the last few days.

She has a rare liver disease and has been in the hospital a lot – starting from the time she was about 4 yrs old when we were
Taking her to University Hospital in Madison WI bi-weekly for months. The doctors could never really find out what was wrong with
Her and she mysteriously went into remission at about 9 yrs old and was a relatively healthy girl until about 2 and a half years ago
When she started getting sick again. Many trips to Mayo clinic and with myself starting the process of becoming a living donor she
Received the liver she needed May 2006. She recovered rapidly and we thought things were going to be fine now, but faced some rejection
And several hospital stays and barely made it out for Christmas 06, but was able to come home for 2 days to be with family.
Again things were ok for a while but starting in Sept of 07 her levels were sky high and the doctors were scrambling to get things under control
And even tried several experimental drugs and therapies with the last 2 week plasma therapy ending on Dec 21.
She was able to be home that night for her brother Joeys wedding reception, which she was very excited about since she was in the hospital
When he got married a few weeks before. That night she looked good and was pretty much herself and we were optimistic again… but by Christmas
Day she was barely able to stay awake to open presents with us and the next day when she went to visit a friend she was so tired she could barely
Get out of bed and was slurring her speech, we got her into her local clinic Friday (Dec 28th) to run some blood tests and they were really high and we
Were told that she needing to be admitted to her transplant hospital immediately. So we packed her up, she said good bye to her nephew Willie, who is
The sunshine in her life and headed out. We talked with her coordinator and doctor and they said that she is elevated and that she should get a liver
Before to long but now it’s a waiting game and she is too sick this time to consider a living donor although I am still willing.

I know that she would appreciate your cards – she is strong and rarely complains and is the one in our lives who always calls, sends cards or spends
Time with those who are struggling, sick or in need.

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond if you have ever been in a situation you know how much a little means

You can mail cards to:

Thank you so much

Name: Pamela Hogan
Email:
phogan@sendoutcards.com
Recipient Address: Marc & Carlene Lawrence
5 Blue Spruce Drive
Coventry, RI 02816

Recipient Story: One of my personal friends, who is also a Distributor with SOC, has a daughter named Autumn, who was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 7 months old. After almost 2 years of remission, the Leukemia came back (see her profile below). Autumn's life-saving bone marrow transplant is on hold right now because test results this week showed blasts of Leukemia in her blood.

Here is where our prayers are needed - the test results could be wrong and she can still be in remission. Her little body is also working hard to get her counts up so she'll be able to get the transplant. Prayers are needed for the results to be wrong, her Leukemia to still be in remission and for her counts to increase so she can move to Boston where the transplant will take place.

When Autumn is able to have the transplant, Carlene and her husband, Marc, will be in Boston for about 3 months. They are both self-employed (Carlene has a Mary Kay business and Marc is an arborist with his own company, Lawrence's Corrective Tree Care) and this will be a financially challenging time for them. If anyone would like to make a donation to the Lawrence family, you would be more of an "Earth Angel" than you could even imagine. They will need to raise about $50,000 to cover their expenses so truly ANY amount of money that we can raise will be fabulous. Or even just a simple card of encouragement will go a long way and be MUCH appreciated. I truly can't thank you enough. After reading this, I'm sure your heart will feel rather heavy, as is mine.

Hi I'm Autumn I was born March 31, 2005 very happy and a very healthy 9 lbs 1 oz. I was just starting to really learn how to eat and sit up on my own when I went for my 6-month doctor's visit and I got some shots in my leg, it hurt and got swollen the doctor told my mom and dad that it happens sometimes and to give it a few weeks to let the swelling go down, well after a few weeks my mom was not happy with how I looked and took me back to the doctor. They agreed that something more was going on and sent us to Hasbro Children's Hospital for some tests. Several hours later we received the news that I had Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I was admitted to the ICU where I spent a very scary week and they started my chemo therapy. I was in remission that month and had to continue chemo for 2 years. In September 2007 I started feeling yucking and was very tired. We all thought it was the increased meds and chemo. I was given a week off to see if I would perk up and instead I got worse and on October 2, 2007 we found out my cancer was back. We had to start all over again and this time they told us I was going to need to go to Boston and have a bone marrow transplant. I went back into the hospital and have been staying there a lot lately. The doctors were able to get me back in remission quickly and now I need to stay cancer-free to get my transplant. We just found out that my little brother is a match and he will be donating his marrow to me (my little brother Leif is only 7 months old). We will be heading to Boston the first week of December and will be admitted there for 6-8 weeks. I can't wait to be better so I can play with all of my friends.

Jordan,

One of my friends & customers has a grand daughter who is quite ill with cancer. She is a very pretty 15-year old girl who is a good student, cheerleader and has been involved with all of the things that a girl her age should be. She has a very tough form of cancer called esthesioneuroblastoma olfactory neuroblastoma. This is a rare cancer that affects about one in a million people. It is basically a cancer in the sinuses. Her survival odds are only 50-70%. She has been in All Children’s in St. Petersburg since October 18th. Her treatment plans are for chemotherapy, surgery, more chemotherapy, possibly more surgery and finally radiation treatments. She is now undergoing chemotherapy. If all goes well, she will go into remission, but she will never again have a sense of smell or taste. Her father is currently cancer free after surviving non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2004. So, Katie is very aware of the tough road that she is following.  She has been trying hard to stay positive & upbeat, but that’s very difficult at her age when she is going through the side effects of chemotherapy and knowing what her future may be. So, she has had many down days and could use all the cheering that she can get. Receiving cards would certainly brighten her day.

 Cards can be sent to:

 Thanks,

Eight year old Kaylee has cystic fibrosis.  She does not understand the full ramifications of her illness, but does know that she is sick and can not do the things other kids can do.  She is a very happy little girl, but does get the blues sometimes.  Her mommy says that it really cheers her up when she receives a greeting card.  During this season of magic, it would be greatly appreciated if you could send Kaylee just a postcard of cheerfulness.

Thank you in advance for putting a smile on Kaylee's face.  Janet Sams

Though my friend, CaSandra Smith, also an SOC
Representative, would rather have you focus on other peoples'
needs I am writing this to ask you to send cards to this great
lady.  She is a young 46 year old, single mom, with a 9 year old
daughter still at home - the love of her life.  CaSandra has
battled two types of cancer and many other serious health
conditions and came out a winner each time.  She has been in a
long battle with non-hodgins lymphoma, her third cancer, but
recently it has brought her back to the hospital.  Her lungs have
been trying to fail leaving her very weak, tired and needing
extra help to breath.  She makes sure to remind me that I should
always be grateful for what I have in order to have more; as she
says thank you, throughout, the day for each breath.

This woman is truly extrodinary and should you get the chance to
meet her you will see what I mean.  But for now, send her a card
to let her know she is being thought about and cared for.
Thank-you.

One of my old college professors emailed me that one of his student’s relatives is ill. I then asked for her address and permission to send some cards.

Lisa is a young mother that lives in CO and is very ill and battling cancer. I do not know her but I do know she could use some love and cards right now! I did get permission from her family to release her address to anyone willing to send cards!

Dear SOC family,

Renee Van Heel, my dear friend and BNI compadre lost her home in the San Diego wildfires.  The entire family was out of town at the time, and other friends were able to retrieve a few items from the home, but of course they pretty much lost everything.  Her home was in one of the hardest hit areas:  Rancho Bernardo.  I am sure that she will need a lot of encouragement during the long, re-building process.  She is an exceptional, extraordinary and positive woman, who truly understands the Givers Gain mentality and sending out "to give" philosophy.  Thank you for your kindness to her - she is a dear woman.    Address:  Renee & David Van Heel,   18344 Lincolnshire St, San Diego,  CA  92128.  From Greta Morgan, Bonita, CA (San Diego County)

I do not think I have ever felt this helpless in my life. My niece and her husband lost their 9 day old baby late last night. She was home and doing well and was found not breathing. (SIDS)  A beautiful little girl, that had made her way into our hearts. Although its hard to find the reason we trust our faith to get them through this difficult time. I would appreciate any cards of strrength to my Sister and Husband, the grandparents, and my Niece and her Husband.

Hello to all,

Just a short to share something that happened this past week. SendOutCards has helped me get back in touch with family and friends. One of those friends was Cameron Garnick. Cameron and I tried time and again to do the SOC walk through, either his computer was down or something would happen to where we could not follow through. He understood the concept behind SOC and how it could quite possibly help them save his ranch in the Jackson Hole, WY area.

Tue. Sep. 25th he called me to thank me for sending the cards and said how good it was to get back in contact, and how nice it would be to see me face to face. He also told me he was heading up into the high country and would call me when he got back.

Well time went by, and on Fri. Oct.5, 2007 I called to follow up, One of his eight kids, Savannah, told me he had died of a heart attack Thur. Sep.27, 2007, two days after we talked, he was 53 years old. They buried him Tues. Oct. 2 2007. I would have been there had I known.

Needless to say, I have been torn up by this as He was a dear friend

The point of why I share this is that SOC was a true blessing. I had a great 2 months with my friend Cameron because I sent a card! I was able to share with him, and he knew I cared and I would look in on his family, if something happened.

Im writing to you my SOC family to let you know there is a great family in Wyoming that could use some cards, love, support and Prayer!
Im asking you all, if you feel led to, send a card to the Garnicks, and if you happen to be in the Jackson Hole area stop by! You will have the best time of your life!!!

May I leave you with a quote from Cameron.

\"May you find balance on your trail to the truth\"

Thank you I know there are many to help and pray for in this world, but if you feel led, I will be very grateful.

God Bless You!

Liz, a new member of SOC in our team has just experienced a tragedy.  Her brother, to whom she was very close, just passed away yesterday.  She comes from a family of ten and she is the oldest.  They are very close as a family.  Please send her a sympathy card, as she will need our support at this difficult time.

A little background about Liz, she is one of the most loving, caring people I have ever met.  She is Doctors Without Borders, and has risked her life in disaster relief work during the Tsunami in Thailand, Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and also in Africa.  She gladly lays her life on the line when she goes in for these Disaster Reliefs, and many times she is the head Doctor, directing the entire team of people.  She is on the frontline serving as a Humanitarian, and they get paid almost nothing to do this.  Please send her a card.  I am going to post her on the Send Love link on SOC.

September 24th,

My dear friend Nancy Humphries works with me in SOC. Nancy is a full time
kindergarden teacher, has a husband and 4 sons she is helping through their
educations and she has built her SOC business as a SM to over 40
representatives in just a matter of months. She is amazing. Nancy's father
is terminally ill with cancer and is in the last stages with his disease
progressing rapidly. Nancy is cooking for everyone, and trying to keep
everyone's spirits together. Nancy previously lost her sister to cancer. So
this is a very difficult time for this amazing lady. Please send her a card
and brighten her day with your blessings. She deserves a hug and pat on the
back. Nancy was at the SOC convention in August and loved every minute of
it. Thank you. Nancy Humphries 35272 McKee Place, Abbotsford, BC V2S 8L3

I am requesting cards be sent to a friend of our family, one year old Jenna Mangini.  She was diagnosed, shortly after birth, with cancer.  She went through chemo like a little trooper.  She was done with treatment and ready to celebrate her 1st birthday when she relapsed.  Right now, she is doing better than immediately after her relapse, but this is a whole new journey her and the family.
Could your wonderful online family send support cards to:

Hey Jordan,
I just wanted to let you know of someone who is need of cards.  My friend Nancy Wright.  Her Husband just passed away.  He had a blood vessel that ruptured in his esophagus.  The bleeding from this was way to much for his body to handle.  It caused his kidneys and liver to shut down and made his blood pressure dangerously low. It happened all at once and his body could not recover.    The doctors could not stabilize him to do surgery and he passed away. He was only 53.
Sadly he leaves behind his Father Leonard Koch, His wife Nancy and his two grown children Joey and Christina and two grandchildren.
His Wifes address is:

Nancy Wright
3102 Southern Loop
Kingman, AZ 86401
Cards for the whole family can be sent there and his dad lives across the street.
This was my dad\'s best friend and a long time family friend.  So if you  you can, please send a card to:

Donnie Byerly

This has taken us all by surprise and we are all very sad to say goodbye. :(

I am a manager in your downline and I have a special request.  Over five years ago, I befriended a mother named Mindy at the hospital in California while both of our new born babies awaited open heart surgery.  Both of them made it.  Her daughter, Trinity went on to have more surgeries and my son, Chandler went on to have a heart transplant.  We lost our son a year and a half ago due to many complications from the transplant. Mindy was right by my side.  She flew out from Calfornia to Denver for his service and continues to be a huge support in my life.  Her daughter is once again fighting for her life and at six years old is on life support.  They are not certain that she will make it this time.  Mindy and her husband, Barrett could really use some support at this difficult time.  I thought, wouldn\'t it be great if they could receive some cards letting them know we are all thinking of them.  If it is OK with you, I would like to pass the address on to as many SOC people we can so that we can all make a difference.  Being in the hospital, expecially when your child is extremely ill is very frightening.  I just feel so blessed that I belong to a company where we can all make such a huge difference.

Thank you.

September 11th,

Jordan,

I wanted to let you know about some disappointing news my wife Linda and I received this morning. She was diagnosed as suffering from Paget's Disease, which is a rare form of Breast cancer.

This has caught her at a really bad time because she is so excited about building SOC, and being a new President for her BNI chapter. She would probably really appreciate any individual on your team that would send her an inspirational card. She loves to be a sender of cards, but also loves to get the cards from those she has met at SOC Convention.

Somehow if you can share a message to your team that they can send a card to her c/o:

Linda Campana
3120 Wellington Drive East
Eau Claire, WI 54703

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers as we deal with this roadblock on our pathway to success.

I have created a website where you can leave a message for Linda.

September 11th,

My friend Traci (that I have known each other since we were 3 years old) just informed me that she has stage 2 breast cancer.  Once she found out she and her cancer doctors started right away to get working on winning this battle.  This is now the second time she had dealt with cancer (1st, was ovaries).  This amazing woman is now in for another battle and I'll tell you this she is one tough lady.  Traci is also a connoisseur of "Law of attraction" and as an amazing talent of seeing the best in all of us.  My request is to send her your story about cancer or funny cards or whatever you are feeling after you read this.

I heard part of this story on the radio Monday morning.  It captured my attention and touched my heart enough for me to find the full story.  I immediately thought, " I need to send Laura a card.  She needs to know that there are many people thinking about her, praying for her and surrounding her with positive energy & light."

. . . And then, I realized that what a great position I am in . . . I know many senders of cards and thus that is why I have chosen to send you this email.

Laura's story:  Laura went to a breast-feeding specialist 4 months into breast feeding upon finding a lump.  Was told "100% not cancer.  Too young, it's just a clogged milk duct."  Was diagnosed this past July with an aggressive form of breast cancer.  Was scheduled for a mastectomy Aug 7th, which was cancelled upon discovering the cancer had spread to the bones in her right hip, left arm and upper & lower back.  Her doctor gives her a prognosis of an 18% chance of living for 5 years.  Laura's son, Noah is 18 months old.

Christie Weintraub my Distributor (19766) suffered a heart attack in June and has moved to various medical facilities.  Christie is coming along and I spoke to her yesterday and she is excited about the changes that SOC has implemented.

I know that Christie would love to hear from any SOC customers and god willing this will help promote a speedy recovery.

The best address to send any cards/especially Picture Plus cards would be to her home address being:

Many thanks on behalf of Christie & Myself

September 3rd-

My dear friend Linda, her husband Richard has recently suffered 3 strokes.  He is in very bad shape.  Richard is 56 years old and Doctors are confident he will come out of this in due time, in  1 ½-2 years.  Currently Richard can not talk, or walk, is blind in one eye and has digestive failure.    Linda has taken measures to downsize her life.  She recently sold her house, is debt free and will soon hire a nurse when Richard comes home to heal.
I kindly request cards of hope and prayer be sent to Linda & Richard.  They need it.

Thanks for your concern and support.  Please send cards to

September 2nd-

I have a very dear friend, Linda Davis who lives in North Carolina, she has cancer.  She underwent chemo therapy over a year and half ago and for a time her cancer seemed to be in remission.  A few months ago she started having problems again and found out the cancer had returned.  She went through the chemo again until recently when she started having complications that caused them to halt the chemo.  She has been hospitalized now for about two weeks and they don’t seem to be able to help her much further.  She has requested to be allowed to go home and they are letting her go home this week.  She loves to receive cards and she may not have much time left.  Any cards anyone could send I am sure would be appreciated.

Kenny "Rookie" Kemp is a truck driver. While working at home one weekend, trimming a tree, he fell 30 feet.  He crushed his entire right side.  He was in the hospital for weeks and recently returned home.  He still has more surgery to come and months/years of physical therapy.  The first prognosis was that he would never be able to use his right arm.  The first miracle was that he survived the fall, the second is that he may actually have some use of his arm now.  He is married and they have one son.  He loves to receive cards.  It really makes his day!!

A man - Staley Bryant - from Florida that I have been in BNI with for the last year (also a distributor with SOC) just past away on the 22nd.

He left behind a wife - Pat - along with children and grandchildren.  He was a pastor at his local inner city church, and also a distributor for EcoQuest.

There is a history of early deaths within his family on the male side, which doctors cannot determine the exact cause.  He tried so hard to change the cycle, but he lost his fight this month.

I hope that our SOC family will shower his family with many prayers, warm wishes and love.  He was a wonderfully kind man with a happy heart, a real people person – loved by many.

Megan,

I remember Jordan saying something about if we have someone who could use a “few cards” to help them during a rough time.

Can I give that info to you to propagate?

Her name is Barbara Coffin. She has recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, has had it removed and is undergoing treatments now for the next several months. Her husband, Stephan, who is a musician and teacher is caring for her now. They are a great couple, salt of the earth.

Barbara has had other family members go thru this and now it’s time to support her. Things are going pretty well, but I asked Stephen if he thought she’d like some cards – even possibly strangers – and he said that would be GREAT!

Rhonda,

Judy has been diagnosed with level 3 cancer and her treatment is not scheduled to start for 6 weeks.

I included the email that Judy sent out to a select few of her friends and family.  She writes so beautifully!  She truly is a beautiful soul and can use the support of all those who wish to send positive energy her way and of course the true power of prayer.  I am so thankful SendOutCards has entered my life because with it, it has brought so many fabulous people into my life.  I know that Judy will appreciate any uplifting messages that anyone is willing to share with her.  THANK YOU and GOD BLESS.
